The CMS platform Cosmic JS takes a whole new approach to content management.
This is described as a “fast and easy content management platform” made with JavaScript. It’s meant to operate as an API for content management regardless of your server settings. The client operates through a dashboard with support for backend setups running NodeJS and PHP.
CosmicJS doesn’t limit what you can do, and it’s trying to make content management that much easier. For example, when building a simple JavaScript app you might want to use Cosmic as a resource for handling the content.
Everything connects directly through a CosmicJS API which has full documentation for developers.
At the moment it seems CosmicJS is only in private beta, so you won’t be able to try it out unless you signup for an account. However their modules are freely available on GitHub if you want to check them out.
This is certainly not a product for everyone and probably won’t replace classic options like WordPress.
However it’s nice to see CosmicJS pushing the boundaries of content management and web development as a whole. Check out the features list to see what Cosmic JS can do.
