Explore The Cloud and plant trees in TwilioQuest for Earth Day 2021

Last year, we teamed up with Onetreeplanted.org, our community of streamers, and Operators to plant 10,000 trees for Earth Day! We want to do it all over again this year, but this time we hope to beat last year’s total tree count.

TwilioQuest is an educational video game that teaches foundational programming skills like Python, JavaScript and open source collaboration. As an Operator, you are on a mission to save The Cloud, a vast virtual world under attack by a shadowy organization known only as the Legacy Systems.

Throughout April, as you make your way through The Cloud, you will come across several terraforming controls which will plant a virtual tree. This virtual tree will be converted into a real tree, planted by our friends at Onetreeplanted.org.

Onetreeplanted: A non-profit with a focus on global reforestation

The organization started in 2014, and since then they have more than doubled the number of trees planted year over year. Fast-forward to today, they now work with reforestation partners in North America, South America, Asia, and Africa who help them get trees in the ground to restore forests after fires and floods, create jobs, build communities, and protect habitat for biodiversity.

24h Earth Day stream on Twitch

On April 22nd, Earth Day, we'll be hosting a special 24-hour stream to raise awareness of this opportunity. Some of our special guests will stream playing TwilioQuest and others will share their process creating new game content using the soon-to-be released authoring guidelines. Earth Day Operation

The TwilioQuest monthly stream will take place on April 13th from 9am - 1pm PT. Join Margaret and our special guests to participate in the Earth Day operation.
