Summary

With the javascript library Blotter.js you can easily add crazy text animations to your website.
Who wants to bring a bit of movement in headings, menu texts or other writing elements, should take a look at the Javascript library Blotter.js. With it you can easily create different text animations. The software relies on the OpenGL Shading Language (GLSL), but saves developers from having to deal with the language.
Blotter.js has five different ways that text can be rendered. The five methods are called materials, letting you, for example, break text into a cluster of animated dots or apply various distortion effects to it. On this overview page you can take a look at all five materials. If you click on one of them, an explanation will be displayed and you can play around with the different parameters live.

You can download Blotter.js from the official website either minified or uncompressed. If you would like to make your own adjustments to the library, you should take a look at the corresponding Github entry.
